Cybersecurity Workforce Development Apprenticeship Program

About The Program

The Cybersecurity Workforce Development Apprenticeship Program is a 12-month instructor-led and paid on-the-job training program designed to develop and refine the skills of underrepresented individuals to become certified cybersecurity professionals.

Program Schedule

 

Phase 1

In the first phase, students will cover different topics that will enable them to be certified as a CompTIA IT Fundamentals professional. This exam focuses on the essential IT skills and knowledge needed to perform tasks commonly performed by advanced end-users and entry-level IT professionals alike, including using features and functions of common operating systems and establishing network connectivity, identifying common software applications and their purpose. and using security and web browsing best practices

 

Phase 2

In the second phase, students will cover different topics that will enable them to be a certified CompTIA Security+. This exam will certify the students for having the understanding and skills required to install and configure systems to secure applications, networks, and different devices. Students will learn to install security systems, perform threat analysis, and take precautionary measures to mitigate risks. Upon completion of Phase 2, students will be able to successfully implement an appropriate security solution for monitoring and hybrid environment that includes cloud, IoT, and mobile.

 

Phase 3

In the third phase, students will cover different topics that will enable them to be certified in CompTIA Cloud+. This exam validates the skills needed to deploy and automate secure cloud environments that support the high availability of business systems and data. CompTIA Cloud+ is the only performance-based IT certification that views cloud-based infrastructure services in the context of broader IT systems operations regardless of the platform.

 

Phase 4

In the final phase, students will cover different topics that will enable them to be certified in CompTIA CySA+. This exam will certify students for having the understanding to obtain the skills required to configure and use threat detection tools, perform data analysis and interpret the results to identify vulnerabilities, threats and risks to an organization, with the end goal of securing and protecting applications and systems within an organization

 

Phase 5

In the final phase, students will work fulltime for their respective employer sponsors to exercise their acquired skills.

Be assigned a Diversity Cyber Council Mentor to lead you in every step of the program

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Pass an employment background check

  • Pass the Diversity Cyber Council’s Digital Literacy Assessments

  • Total commitment and availability for the duration of the program
